The world’s marine protected areas have a sewage problem nobody wants to talk about
Across thousands of marine protected areas spanning Australasia and Melanesia, Mesoamerica and the Caribbean, the Coral Triangle, East Africa, the Indian Ocean, the Middle East and North Africa, researchers have found that the vast majority are contaminated by sewage.
